The seller is:
The buyer is the person named on the booking. You must be 18 or older to make a booking. Guests under 18 are welcome on the tour when accompanied by a responsible adult who has made the booking.
A seat on a guided aurora bus charter departing from Tromsø on a specific, named date. The tour includes transport, a guide, and the equipment described on the booking page. It does not include travel to Tromsø, accommodation, or insurance.
We do not sell, and cannot promise, northern lights. The aurora is a natural phenomenon. We choose the route each evening based on the conditions and go where the sky is most likely to be clear, but no operator can guarantee a sighting. A tour that runs as described is delivered in full even if the aurora does not appear.
Prices are shown on the booking page in Norwegian kroner (NOK) and include VAT and all mandatory charges. The price you see at checkout is the total price for your party. Private charters are quoted individually by email and are not booked through the online form.
Payment is made at the time of booking, by Vipps/MobilePay or by card. Card payments are handled by Stripe and Vipps payments by Vipps MobilePay AS; we never see or store your card details.
Your seats are held for 30 minutes from the moment checkout starts. If payment is not completed within that time the seats are released and go back on sale. We will email you once with a fresh payment link, but we cannot hold the seats while you decide.
Your booking is confirmed only when payment has gone through and you have received a confirmation email from us.
The service is delivered on the tour date you booked. Pickup is from Prostneset harbour terminal, or from one of the listed hotels if you chose hotel pickup.
We email your pickup time and place on the day of departure. Departures are normally at 19:00, but the exact time for your pickup point is confirmed in that email. Please be outside and ready a few minutes early — with a full bus to collect we cannot wait long at any one stop, and a guest who is not there when the bus arrives may be left behind. In that case the booking is treated as a no-show under section 7.
Bookings made here are for a leisure service to be provided on a specific date. Under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven § 22 letter m), such bookings are exempt from the 14-day right of withdrawal. This means you cannot cancel simply because you have changed your mind.
Our own cancellation terms in section 7 apply instead, and they are more generous than the law requires.
Email booking@tromsoauroratours.no with your booking details.
We may cancel a departure for reasons including weather, road conditions, vehicle problems, or too few bookings to run the night. If we cancel for any reason, you receive a full refund, returned to your original payment method. You may instead choose to move to another available date.
Two things worth knowing about how this works in practice:
Our liability for a cancelled tour is limited to refunding what you paid us. We are not responsible for other costs you may have incurred, such as flights, accommodation or connecting travel, so we recommend travel insurance.
If cloud cover blocks the aurora completely on a tour that ran, you are welcome to join any later charter in the same season at no extra cost, subject to availability. This is a goodwill arrangement in addition to your legal rights, not a refund.
Aurora tours run at night, in winter, often well outside town. You are responsible for dressing for the conditions — warm windproof layers, insulated boots and gloves — and for following the guide's instructions during the tour, particularly around the vehicle and near roads. We may refuse carriage to a guest who is intoxicated or whose behaviour puts others at risk, without refund.
If something was not as it should have been, tell us as soon as possible and within a reasonable time of the tour, by emailing booking@tromsoauroratours.no. Describe what happened and what you would like us to do. We will reply, and we aim to do so within a few days.
Where the service is defective, you have the rights given to you by Norwegian consumer law, which may include a price reduction or compensation.
We would much rather sort a problem out directly, so please contact us first. If we cannot agree, you may bring the matter to the Norwegian Consumer Authority:
Forbrukertilsynet — Postboks 2862 Kjørbekk, 3702 Skien. Consumers can also get free guidance from Forbrukerrådet.
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, and any dispute is subject to the ordinary Norwegian courts, with Nord-Troms og Senja tingrett as the agreed venue.
We collect your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number, in order to take your booking, send you confirmation and pickup details, and contact you if something changes. If you choose hotel pickup we also store which pickup point you selected.
We do not sell your data or use it for marketing. Payment details are handled by Stripe and Vipps and never reach us. Booking records are kept as long as required by Norwegian accounting law. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email booking@tromsoauroratours.no.
Guides often take photographs during the tour and share them with the guests on that night through a private gallery link. If you would rather not appear in them, tell your guide on the night and we will leave you out.
By completing a booking you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.
